ToolTiers is a free cordless-tool reference site. We built it to need as little of your data as possible — here is exactly what that means in practice.

What we collect

We don't collect personal information, and we don't run analytics that identify you. You can browse every page — rankings, tool details, comparisons — without an account and without us building a profile of you. If we ever add analytics, we'll choose a privacy-respecting option and update this page before turning it on.

What your browser stores

ToolTiers saves one thing locally: your display preference — whether you prefer the card or compact view on the drill and impact-driver finders (stored under the keys tl_drill_view and tl_impact_view). This lives in your browser's local storage, on your device. It never leaves your machine and never reaches us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Affiliate links & cookies

Some outbound links to retailers are affiliate links. When you click one and visit the retailer, that retailer and its affiliate network (for example, impact.com) may set cookies in your browser to attribute a purchase to ToolTiers. This is standard affiliate tracking, and it's how a free site like this is funded. Those cookies are set by the retailer or network — not by us — and are governed by their own privacy policies.
